Another reason to listen to Ukrainian radio

By Aussiegirl

Pawlina over at the great Ukrainian blog, Nash Holos, asks a pertinent question. What has our culture come to when we give people like this access to our airwaves? Pawlina is referring to this article.

Check out Nash Holos for plenty of other interesting posts and links to listen to Ukrainian radio and other links for Ukrainian media.

What has mainstream radio come to when its "stars" get paid to make on-air threats to harm women and children?

Thanks, Aussiegirl, for helping me bring attention to this travesty.

Such an outcome was inevitable in the culture of spiralling depravity the moneyed media moguls have cultivated... making slimeballs like Howard Stern role models for legions of radio star wannabes.

The sad thing is that those responsible for this culture are not held accountable for their creation... even when something this dramatic occurs. The ivory-tower moguls just fire the hapless guy who was faithfully emulating their role models, and hire another J-school grad with stars in his eyes for a pittance.

Lovely business, broadcasting.

These kinds of disgraceful goings on make me glad to be on the periphery and flying under the radar of the industry barracudas. Like many other broadcasters (as opposed to bean counters), I do radio, not to make shiploads of money, but for the sheer love of it. It's a ton more fun! ;-)
