More threats to the internet

Just don't let these guys anywhere near the internet. Our own senators are mucking things up enough. The internet is a threat to these entrenched powers everywhere, and they are looking at all sorts of ways of closing us down and controlling us. Squeal bloody murder.

The European Commission hopes a meeting next week will come up with an agreement to allow governments more direct influence over the domain name system that guides traffic around the Internet.

A U.N. report has put forward a more multi-national approach to running the Internet which serves a billion users worldwide, saying this would be more democratic and transparent, a view the 25-nation European Union shares.

Very insidious, and very scary. Yet another attack on freedom by Marxist-socialist control freaks.

Equally scary is that few in the free world seem concerned enough to bother squealing.

Yes, they are encroaching and boiling the frog slowly, and the West is not even noticing as all the freedoms are being eroded. MOre and more what I see happening reminds me of what happened in communist countries. And as you said, the free world preoccupies itself with trivialities while its civilization is being usurped. Those of us who have backgrounds that remind us what it's like not to have freedom are more vigilant and afraid of losing those things which we came to this country to avoid.
