Vote For Lucy and Ethel!

by: BonnieBlueFlag

There is a wonderful little site called Mumbo Jumbo, that always has some delightful, entertaining, and often seasonal items of interest. If you are not already a regular there, I encourage you to stop by now and then to see what is new.

The topics range from pets, glamorous movie stars of the past, to holiday histories and fun facts.

Most recently, two beloved pet Cocker Spaniels have been entered into the online USA Dog Show, and we would love for you to stop by the show site, and vote for the girls.

You will quickly notice that the girl's names reflect their mistress's obsession with reruns of the old "I Love Lucy" TV series.

Please meet "Olive Lucy" and "Ethel Mae."

Vote for Olive Lucy

Vote for Ethel Mae

Ethel Mae very recently was the second place winner for her Halloween costume at a Blog site devoted to "Pug" puppy dogs, This Pug's Life.

The Dog Show USA does take a moment to load, for those of us still using a dial-up land line.

And, should any of our readers decide to enter their puppy dog while they are there, please come back and let us know, as we would be pleased to be of support to your pet too.

I tried to get my cats to cast a vote but they said they never vote for animals that allow themselves to be dressed up in costumes. I, however, will vote. Adorable dogs -- cocker spaniels? Read the wonderful book called "Flush" by Virginia Wolfe - the story of Elizabeth Barret and Robert Browning's courtship told through the eyes of her beloved spaniel, Flush. Absolutely delightful -- and -- I Love Lucy is probably my favorite TV show of all time. It was the first television program I had ever seen. I first saw it when we just arrived from Australia and I instantly fell in love with Lucy and all the gang. I still remember it to this day --it was the episode where she smuggles the cheese on board the airliner and pretends it's her baby and then she and Ethel wind up having to eat it all. Love it.
