Bright outlook for Canada's future

By Aussiegirl

Here's an update on Canada's recent elections by one of their best journalists, Paul Jackson. We need to know what's going on with our northern neighbor, and here is a good introduction. He's obviously hopeful that better times are ahead--here is his final thought:
So, my friends, get ready for a decade or more of solid and decent Conservative government.
And, boy, have we earned it!

The Calgary Sun - Bright outlook

Liberal leaders Jean Chretien and Paul Martin took their parties and governments first into the gutters and then into the sewers in absolutely unconscionable and shameless ways.
The corruption of the Liberal machine was not only the corruption of financial fraud, but corruption of the very soul of our nation. The tarnishing of our traditions, and the besmirching of our allies.
The Liberal party, and just about everyone connected with it, needs to be cleansed and that will not be done easily.

The Canadian electorate has not seen Conservative PM's in a long time - as soon as they see he is not going to bomb Quebec or such other liberal myth - they will realize what they have been missing.

Some will... but others are pretty stuck in their political delusions. These are cut from the same cloth as the Holodomor-deniers. Such folks pine for the 'good old days' of the old Soviet Union.

A similar scenario took place on the provincial level in BC. A conservative government was just re-elected this year - ironically under the Liberal banner. (Don't ask! You think you're confused now...) The economy is humming and now that the books are balanced there's all kinds of money being doled out on social programs. All the while, the Left screamed bloody murder and still does. The lies they tell would make Putin blush.

The Canadian Left want so much to believe in soviet socialism that they would not be happy if Harper and his crew walked on water and fed 12k people with two fish and three loaves of bread daily in every constituency for the next 4 years. They would just resent being proven wrong.

We haven't progressed much in 2000 years.
