Crucified Kosovo: Destroyed and Desecrated Serbian Shrines

By Aussiegirl

Well, thanks to Bill Clinton's policies in Bosnia, and to the useless UN that just stood around and watched the fires burn, the adherents of the "Religion of Peace" were free to wreck their 7th century vengence on innocent and beautiful Christian churches, and here are the results, both before and after. I defy you to look at the horror that these ancient and godly buildings were forced to undergo at the dirty hands of the truly Ungodly...and not weep for the injustice of it all. Still, Orthodox Christianity hasn't declared jihad on their Muslim tormentors, as they certainly would have been justified to do. Notice that the annotations to each description state that the Albanians only began their vile destruction once the "protectors", i.e the USA, Italy, Germany, United Kingdom, and France, had arrived to "protect".

One of our readers who calls himself Scribe left the following comment, which I though so excellent that I wanted to reprint it here so it wouldn't be missed.

Part of the problem has been that for 99% of Westerners, whether Christian or secularists, Orthodoxy doesn't exist. It's simply not on their radar screen. Read any Western history book or visit most seminary libraries and you'll be hard pressed to find anything about Orthodox Christianity or its history.

Another part of this problem is that some political/religious elements in the West, as in centuries past, are also wanting to take over Orthodox lands. So the current purge of Orthodoxy from the Balkans is only part of a long campaign for Western domination. Within living memory was the Croatian fascist Utasche, who in WWII, massacred a million Serbs, especially targeting their clergy. It sickened even the German Nazis who witnessed it, but this event was totally ignored by the West.

The Orthodox that reside in the West have kept such a low profile for so long that they have not made their presence or their cause known to the public sphere. It's time for them to break out of their huddled immigrant enclaves and engage the West and teach the West the whole history of Christianity. The struggles against Islam that Orthodoxy faced for 1400 years of its history only now is spilling over into the West, but Westerners are still unaware of this history.

Meanwhile, a huge part of ancient Christianity and its art and culture is being destroyed by Bin Laden's narco-terrorists, but the Western press refuses to notice, and most Westerners will never think to ask what is happening to their fellow Christians, the Orthodox, in those countries.

What will it take for the West to care about its Eastern brethern?

OK, I blogged this.

But remember that the people who bombed Yugoslavia in 1999 are bombing Iraq today.

The destruction of Serbia is a source of personal shame for me as an American. We need to bring light to the level of depravity in Kosovo.

Scribe is right on - How is it that the original Christian churches are as mysterious to the west as the Holy Spirit?

And forget about the Uniate Church. They get even less coverage.
