Tipping point of life and death
By Aussiegirl
I've been posting a lot about this case on Lucianne.com, under my screen name of Aussiegirl, and so far I have refrained from commenting on my blog, hoping that this case would be resolved in a way which would opt for life instead of death.
But I can no longer keep silent. The events of the last few days show that just as we have delivered democracy and freedom to the rest of the world, we appear to have lost it at home. It is now clear that the coup d'etat by the liberal judiciary is complete. It seems that neither the governor, the state legislature, the Congress, nor the President or the people have any power. If a few judges want to put Terry Schiavo to death by way of dehydration and starvation -- then that is what is going to happen.
Now we know why the democrats will fight to the last man, even if they lose all future elections, to block all conservative judicial nominations. Because they know they've won. And now we see that the ballot box is an empty promise. A chimera for the gullible and faithful.
There are tipping points in history. Recently we've witnessed them in the Middle East -- in Afghanistan, in Iraq -- we've witnessed an Orange Revolution in Ukraine when the people reached a tipping point of disgust at continuing to live under a government ruled by corruption and death. It was reached in Lebanon, where millions have come out into the streets demanding Syrian withdrawal and democracy and independence and dignity.
We witnessed it even in the last election, when even a concerted media effort to dehumanize, vilify and caricature President Bush as a trigger happy, war-mongering, intellectually challenged cowboy failed at the ballot box, as the American public recognized true leadership and values.
But has this all been in vain? Has it finally come to the tipping point in our death-dealing culture when all the powers of the people, their elected representatives, even the President are not enough to overcome the dark powers of the unelected and unaccountable judiciary? As powerful as this case is in concentrating the mind on the dangers we face from an out of control activist judiciary, untethered from any Constitutional ties, floating free in the Never-Never land of Euro-style and International law, we face today in the tipping point of this case the inevitable falling of the dominoes which will forever seal our fate and deliver us into the hands of these unelected judges and their whims, made up on the spot, and responsive to no one.
We are in their power forever if we are unable to save one helpless woman who cannot speak for herself, and who is being put to death by a husband who seeks to get rid of her, and a judiciary which wants to codify once and for all, its philosophy of materialism and death.
It is now starkly clear. The difference between the liberal left and the conservative right is quite simple. It is life and death -- it is freedom or slavery. It is that simple. If all the powers of the people, expressed in the election of a majority Republican Congress and Senate, expressed in the election of a Republican pro-life president, expressed in a majority of Republican governors and State Legislatures, is not enough to stay the execution of one helpless woman, whose parents will be forced to stand by and watch her suffer indecent and inhumane torments, then what are these powers worth? Of what use to us are elections? Of what use to us are our free airwaves -- our use of the internet -- our vote at the ballot box? We are prisoners of the liberal judicial gulag as much as if we were refuseniks sitting in the darkest hellholes of Stalin's camps.
If an unelected state judge can ignore a Congressional subpoena, and order a feeding tube removed then we are lost. Then Congress might as well spend the rest of its sessions on such important matters as subpoenaing baseball players for hearings and other vital matters of national importance.
Without life, there is no hope. In every case we now see it starkly and clearly. If you choose death -- whether by unrestricted abortion, even of a full-term baby who has its brains sucked out after scissors are jammed into its brain stem -- whether it be by court-ordered starvation of the unwanted and the helpless, whether it be by the conscious creation of fetuses that will be harvested for cells and organs and then destroyed at will -- then we have entered a Brave New World indeed.
If we can find no power in this country which can put itself above these courts which have donned the mantle of the Divine Right of Kings -- with the power of life and death over each and every one of us, then we have lost everything.
I pray tonight that I am wrong.
Below are some excellent comments on this matter that I want to publish on the main board:

It was my most sincere hope, that our elected legislators would be able to save the life of Terri Schavio, and perhaps they yet will. But, after watching the events of today, it would seem that Satan is afoot in the world, and his minions, Michael Shavio and his attorney, George Felos, and Judge Greer are more than happy to do his bidding.
The press conference held by George Felos was absolutely outrageous. This unimportant speck of a man felt that it was his duty, to publicly call to task the entire elected membership of the US Senate and House of Representatives.
We can only hope that Felos' remarks will make our US Legislators so angry at his impudence, that they come together immediately, to squash him like the insect that he has shown himself to be. BonnieBlueFlag

I wanted to thank you for writing that post; you have said it in the most clear, eloquent manner I have encountered. What the courts are doing to poor Terry is despicable, and the fact that they can tell everybody to shove off like they have is proof that they have usurped WAY too much power. The judge in this case should be charged with contempt of Congress! This is murder, in cold blood.
A nation which has no respect for the most fundamental human right-life-is morally bankrupt and will pay a terrible price.

I THINK THAT ALL AMERICANS AND EVEN PEOPLE IN OTHER COUNTRIES SHOULD BAN TOGETHER AND SUE MICHAEL SHAVIO, HIS ATTORNEY AND JUDGE GREER FOR PAIN AND SUFFERING FOR WHAT WE ALL HAVE GONE THROUGH. I KNOW THAT I HAVE BEARLY SLEPT AND I PRAY EVERY NIGHT NOT FOR MY FAMILY BUT FOR TERRI TO HANG ON AND GOD TO GIVE US A MIRACLE. WHY WOULD CBS POST ON THEIR WEB SITE AN ARTICLE SAYING THAT TERRI SHAVIO WAS DEAD AS HER HUSBAND WATCHED OVER HER. IT WAS ON THIS MORNING AND AN INSIDER FROM THE GLEN BECK SHOW SAW IT AND REPORTED IT TO GLEN BECK WHO IN TURN PUT IT ON THE AIR. WHEN HIS PEOPLE WERE ON THE WEB SITE, IT WAS QUICKLY PULLED OFF. SOMEONE POSTED IT AND SHOULDN'T HAVE. HOW CAN THEY BE SO CRUEL. WE ALL NEED TO GET TOGETHER AND DO SOMETHING AGAINST THESE CRUEL AND INHUMAN SO CALLED PEOPLE.
