I am a naturalized Ukrainian-American, fortunate enough to have been admitted to this great land as an immigrant. My personal history is the spur for this blog. My parents lived through the Ukrainian Genocidal Famine of 1933, survived years of Communist persecution, fled to the West, endured forced labor in Nazi Germany, and following liberation, ended up in Allied internment camps fighting forced repatriation to the Soviet Union under the Yalta Agreement. Their courageous struggle to bring our family to freedom, first to Australia, then to America, and their example of unflinching faithfulness to truth and honor, have left an indelible impression on me. My parents did not save me from Communism and Nazism for me to go gently into dhimmitude or slavery. Hence my passion and my mission to expose threats to freedom and democracy wherever they are found. This blog is a testament to their courage and my small gift to their heroism. ***ADDENDUM*** Aussiegirl, my wife, Helen, passed away on January 13, 2007. You're not the only one who feels that way. I briefly blogged twice on it and that's it. It is the most over done story of the year.
Agreed! I think Joe Wilson abd Richard Clarke, and "Deep Throat" (I forget his name, and am not trying hard to remember it) are members of the same frat - or else triplets borne of different mothers. All are Dem. hacks that made a faint-hearted attempt to pass themselves off as republicans, were passed over for one reason or another, and went over to the Dark Side to try to get even. It's behaviour I'd expect on an elementary school playground.
What else is new from the democrats? We have serious problems all over the world, and these bozos waste our time with these niggling charges rigged to bring down the president -- or at least hurt him. Now, I've had lots of criticism of Bush recently (I am a conservative, but I'm mighty disappointed on a number of fronts) but when the dems go so overboard they only make themselves look stupid and make people sympathize with the president.
It almost makes you want to tear your hair out. Hey, people -- there are bombs going off in the London underground -- and you are worried about something this trivial. This is all smoke and mirrors to get us to forget that we are fighting a war on terror -- our borders are porous - there are so many problems and nobody in power is paying the slightest bit of attention. And don't get me started on that Aruba thing -- last I heard Greta was buying a nice condo since she's there all the time anyway.
Aussie here - well I managed to momentarily slip the surly bonds of the home for the internet deprived and thus completely deranged just as Bonnie has stated -- but just for a moment though -- as strange forces seem bent on keeping me from further defaming Wilson and Plame. I did manage to get my tinfoil hat in place and so I am able to smuggle this message out. Hope to see everyone in a day or so-- maybe even tomorrow again if I can manage to evade the thunderstorm gods.
So THAT's what's been happening!! I knew those democrats had a dirty tricks department, but this is too much!
