Plame blame

By Aussiegirl

A former CIA case officer gets on the Plame case and lays out some ugly facts.

OpinionJournal - Extra

Langley's systemic sloppiness--the flimsiness of cover is but the tip of the iceberg of incompetence--has repeatedly destroyed agent networks and provoked "flaps" with some of our closest allies. A serious CIA would never have allowed Mr. Wilson to go on such an odd, short "fact finding" mission. It never would have allowed Ms. Plame potentially to expose herself by recommending such an overt mission for her mate, not known for his subtlety and discretion. With a CIA where cover really mattered, Mr. Libby would not now be indicted. But that's not what we have in the real world. We have an American left that hates George W. Bush and his vice president so much that they have become willing dupes in a surreal operational stage-play. You have to give credit to Langley: Overseas it may be incompetent; but in Washington, it can still con many into giving it the respect and consideration it doesn't deserve

Jimmy carter castrated both the CIA and the FBI. Ronnie brought in a few menn with balls but not nearly enough. Reno and Goerlick got rid of the real men Ronnie brought in and advanced the careers of the geldings left over from the Carter purge. As well as bringing in more geldings.
Both the CIA and the FBI have been bastions of political correctness for 27 years. The result is that they both have failed to do what they were set up to do. The OSS was much better and in no way similar to the CIA of the last 27 years. The world is the worse for this situation. Goss seems to not be up to the task.
Because of the above, I think, we should abolish the CIA and start over. But first we need to find a tough, smart, determined man to head it. Goss has proved he is not the man.Not blaming Goss - blaming Carter and Clinton.
Goss is just not up the the task which is daunting.

Carter destroyed the CIA and the FBI. I believe he did it intentionally. Whether he did it intentionally or not he did it. Both should be abolished. All their employees fired. Get Newt and Tom Coburn to find new men to run new agencies.
They have been a giant waste of taxes the last 28 years. And as 911 showed gave us a false sense of security.

I think what may have happened over the years is that the left wing took over the CIA, the agency which was their bete noire in the 60's. You couldn't talk to any hippie or leftie in the 60's or 70' without them giving you the spiel that the CIA was evil incarnate that was destroying the country. Over the years, the leftists took over that agency just like they took over other bureaucracies, the universities, and the media. While they used to rail about the "establishment" -- now they ARE the establishment, and they are actively using these agencies to undermine and bring down conservative or Republican presidents and to further the leftist agenda in the world.
