How radical imams manufactured the "spontaneous" cartoon jihad

By Aussiegirl

Reading this article, I feel vindicated, because I went out on a limb last Friday and predicted that this would turn out to be the real background to this whole cartoon affair.

Rent-A-Riot ABCs

'A BLESSING from God": So have Iran's leaders, starting with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, described the controversy over the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammed. A closer look at the row, however, shows that the whole rigmarole was launched by Sunni-Salafigroups in Europe and Asia, with Ahmadinejad and his Syrian vassal, President Bashar al-Assad, belatedly playing catch-up. God had nothing to do with it.

To see how the whole thing was manufactured to serve precise political ends, consider the chronology of events.

[...] The fight between Denmark
and its detractors is not between the West and Islam. It is between democracy
and a global fascist movement masquerading as religion.

And here's what I wrote last Friday before there was even a hint of this in the news, and it appeared that the demonstrations were a spontaneous outpouring of Moslem outrage:
It hit me today like a ton of bricks while listening to the avalanche of outrage from the Muslim world over these silly cartoons, complete with calls for death to the infidel, jihad and holy war. Why all the rage all of a sudden when these cartoons were first published months ago? Why has a shadowy group created its own even more insulting cartoons and claimed they were the work of the Danish paper? And why now?

It all comes together. In some way I can't help but think that this is a coordinated strategy to distract the world's attention from the current crisis with the imminence of a nuclear Iran.

[...] As I said -- you read it here first. The controversy is growing out of all proportion to the purported "offense". And there's something more going on here than simply a coincidental series of events.
