ATTENTION! SCIENCE BUFF ALERT!

By Aussiegirl

In light of all the neat articles recently posted on UT about spooky things like black holes and parallel universes, check out the Science Channel on Tuesday, June 13th, from 8 to 11 p.m. They're running three science shows in a row that are calculated to knock your socks off! For the sake of conciseness I'm posting the relevant descriptions from Science Channel's website:

8-9 p.m.
Supermassive Black Holes
Scientists have discovered something even more powerful than black holes - supermassive black holes. Far from being agents of destruction, these giant black holes are now believed to be the seeds from which all galaxies grow.

9-10 p.m.
Most of Our Universe is Missing
We can only account for four percent of our universe. Join us as we visit the worlds most powerful telescopes, fly through outer space, and travel inside the deepest mines to find the other 96% of what makes the universe home.

10-11 p.m.
Parallel Universe
The strange notion of parallel universes is gaining strength in the scientific community and may solve our most basic questions about the universe, including the origins of the Big Bang itself.
You're notice that the 9-10 p.m. show about dark matter was talked about in my post Gravity's dark side (two posts down), and the 10-11 p.m. show about parallel universes was discussed in my May 31 post entitled One universe or many? (five posts down).
