New Orleans officials ignored own evacuation plans

Louisiana officials ignored their own plans for mandatory evacuations by failing to provide for public transportation for residents without means or with special needs. School buses, municipal buses, governmental vehicles and other commandeered vehicles were to be used for such purposes and residents were to be notified where to assemble to be taken to safety. Who is racist and incompetent here? Let's stop the silly name-calling and get down to business. The sobering assessments of officials is that New Orleans may not be ready for habitation or even rehabilitation for 9 months or more.
